CAMPAIGN “GIVE STRENGTH” FOR SUPPORT TO WOMEN DISEASED FROM BREAST CANCER

Every year about 4,600 women suffer from breast cancer each year, while each eighth that faces this disease loses the most difficult battle. It is the most common form of tumor in women, but when it is detected in time, 95% of cases are curable. In the month of the fight against cancer, with the desire to further strengthen and encourage women suffering from this disease, the “Give strength” campaign has been launched, aimed at supporting everyone who lost hair during chemotherapy.

“Hair loss in women belongs to one of the most difficult and most emotional moments as they go through chemotherapy. This is the moment when the battle of cancer becomes visible to the environment, but also to them, the moment they realize that cancer does not happen to anyone else. Then they need great strength to continue the fight. The motive of this campaign is precisely that – to ‘force’ women to continue to fight cancer more strongly and stronger with our support. The strength we give comes from the hair that lovely people will donate with love for these brave women and after the period of collection of hair will be made to make, quality, hand-made wigs because our ladies deserve only the best “, said Vesna Bondžić, founder of the Women’s Center Milica.

The campaign “Give strength” launched by the brand Pantene, the Milica Women’s Center from Vrnjacka Banja with the support of Delhaize Serbia, aims to motivate citizens to donate their hair and thus help create wigs.

In addition to donating hair, the support of the campaign is realized through the purchase of Pantene products in the shops Maksi and Tempo, as well as through payments to the specially opened gyro account of the Women’s Center Milica.

After the first phase of hair collection, the period of wig is followed, after which all interested women will be able to apply for their wig from natural hair. After the period of chemotherapy and hair growth, wigs are returned to the Women’s Center Milica, where they will be available to women who need it.

All details regarding hair donation can be found on the website of Milica Women’s Center www.dajsnagu.milica.org.rs.
