Delhaize Serbia has won the award of the Ministry of Environmental Protection for its activities and efforts in the area of environmental protection. At the first celebration of the World Environment Day organised by the relevant ministry, the award was received on behalf of the company by Mirjana Jovašević, Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainable Operations of Delhaize Serbia.
“We continuously implement activities aimed at creating a healthier and cleaner planet, from waste recycling, to CEO2 emission reduction, to strategic management of extra food. Aiming to contribute to the reduction of pollution, we launched a project of charging for plastic bags and initial results are very encouraging, as their consumption is cut by a half,” noted Mirjana Jovašević, Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainable Operations of Delhaize Serbia.
The World Environment Day was celebrated with a suitable program in the Botanical Garden “Jevremovac“, where representatives of the state and private sectors gathered, united in promoting global, European and national values of environmental protection.
