Figure as an existential expression

On 18th February 2022, in partnership with Diplomacy&Commerce magazine, the French Ambassador to Serbia, H. E. Pierre Cochard, hosted a cocktail reception and guided tour for the diplomatic corps at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade. The event marked France’s presidency over the European Union and featured a retrospective exhibition called ‘Vladimir Veličković: Figure as an Existential Expression’, showcasing the artwork of the famous Serbian painter Vladimir Veličković.

Over forty representatives of diplomatic corps were present at the event, including: H.E. Annika Ben David, Swedish Ambassador to Serbia; H.E. Carlos I. Seyf Allah Rejeb, Ambassador of Tunisia to Serbia; H.E. Nada Al Akl, Ambassador of Lebanon to Serbia; H.E. Rafal Perl, Ambassador of Poland to Serbia; H.E. Shehryar Akbar Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Serbia; H.E. Takahiko Katsumata, Ambassador of Japan to Serbia; H.E. Thomas Schieb, Ambassador of Germany to Serbia and Khairul Tazril Tarmizi, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Malaysia in Belgrade.

The French Ambassador to Serbia, H. E. Mr. Pierre Cochard, Marijana Kolarić, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade; Žikica Milošević, journalist and editor from Color Media Communications and Vuk Vidor, painter, all gave welcome speeches.

Following the speeches, there was a guided tour through the Vladimir Veličković: Figure as an Existential Expression exhibition in the French and English language and a cocktail reception for all the guests.
