Mikser Festival, October 8. and 9. in Zornic’s House

OXYGEN

Mikser Festival 2020 will be held on October 8. and 9. in Zornić’s house, near Belgrade, under the slogan OXYGEN. In the year when everything stopped, nature became Mikser’s biggest ally. We want to breathe freely, speak freely, be creative, and connect with those who share the same values, where the answers to the dilemmas of the future are hidden – in nature.

More than 100 festival participants will present themselves through an online platform, but also with a physical presence in a unique, festival environment.

This year’s edition is designed as a ThinkThank gathering of invited experts, activists, and young talents who will discuss approaches to “repair” our reality, in the direction of a healthy environment, circular economy, European legislation, and the Green Agreement, gender equality, inclusion, and active aging, participatory urbanism, eco-design, engaged art, quality education, and free media all through talks, lectures, and workshops…

Program zones dedicated to design and art will again be an indispensable part of the festival this year through the participation of innovative designers of Mikser’s selection “Young Balkan Designers” who will be guests at the prestigious Milan Design Fair 2021, as well as the winner of the Black Box art competition Monuments for the 21st century and through a two-day workshop to create a joint manifesto in space.

Due to the avoidance of the epidemiological risks of mass gatherings, the usual music program of the festival will be postponed for the next festival edition.

Respecting the epidemiological restrictions on the number of people present at public gatherings, all contents of the Mikser Festival 2020 will be available to a wider audience in the online form, through live panel discussions and broadcast of recorded materials on Mikser’s YouTube channel and social networks.

Mikser Festival 2020 was supported by the Balkan Trust for Democracy and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway, the United Nations Office for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment – UN Women, the United Nations Population Fund – UNFPA, as well as a number of Mixer’s longtime friends, collectives, partner companies, and media.

The schedule of live broadcasts from Zornić Kuće, as well as the detailed festival program, will be announced on October 1.
