One of the world’s most famous thriller writers, Norwegian Jo Nesbø, is coming as a special guest to the first Belgrade Thrillerfest, which will be held at Dom omladine from May 16 to 18, 2025
On that occasion, Nesbø will promote his latest novel “Minnesota”, published by Laguna, and a meeting with the audience and a book signing are scheduled for Saturday, May 17 at 8 p.m. in the Great Hall of Dom omladine.
Thrillerfest is a multimedia festival dedicated to the thriller and crime genre and is the first such event in the region.
During the three festival days, a mini-thriller fair will be organized at Dom omladine, featuring the largest domestic publishers, and visitors can expect special discounts, promotions of new releases, and meetings with domestic and foreign authors.
In addition to Nesbø, the main stars of the festival will be Swedish writers Arne Dahl and Malin Sten, who will also promote and sign their novels and socialize with the audience, and the thematic “Swedish Thriller Night” will also attract special attention.In addition to book presentations, Thrillerfest will screen films from the latest European productions. The festival screenings will open on Friday, May 16 at 8 p.m. with the award-winning Swedish psychological thriller “Sons”, and viewers will also be able to watch the French film “The Syndicalist” starring Isabelle Huppert and the exciting Spanish thriller “The Fall of the King”.
A special segment of the festival will be dedicated to video games in the thriller genre, as well as comics, while the audience will also be able to attend the Play!Con conference, as well as see the art exhibition “Between the Lines”, inspired by Swedish noir literature.
Finally, on the last day of the festival, regional awards for “Best Thriller Novel” and “Best Screenplay for a TV Series” will be presented. The awards are presented by the Thriller Writers Association “UpiT”, which brings together over 40 writers and screenwriters from all countries of the former Yugoslavia.
