Today in Belgrade, in the hall of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Serbia Goes Green conference was held, organized by Color Media Events, dedicated to the topics of green transition, innovations in the circular economy and sustainable development of the Serbian economy
Vukašin Vojinović, from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, stated in his introductory presentation that Color Media Group is recognized by PKS as a reliable partner and strategic ally in this important green transition process.
“Regardless of the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, the global crises and all the challenges the world is going through, I believe that in Serbia we must persevere in the conversation about human rights and environmental protection, because these are topics that must not be left off the table, and that is why I am especially glad that even today, with our partners from institutions, international organizations and the economy, we continue to build awareness and concrete changes, which must not remain only on paper, but must become part of everyday life and a serious social response”. said Robert Čoban, president of Color Press Group, opening the conference.
Nenad Ivanišević, Provincial Secretary for the Economy of AP Vojvodina stated in his opening address that “Environmental protection, equality and culture are not a matter of regulations, but a matter of home education — when it becomes part of our mentality, we will not do it because we have to, but because we believe it should.”
“The green transition is not a burden — it is an opportunity to grow in a different way, to invest thoughtfully and to innovate with a purpose,” Matilde Mordt, permanent coordinator of the UN in Serbia, believes.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, H.E. Christine Melsom with her statement that “the green transition is not just about reducing emissions — it’s about changing the way we produce, use and reuse resources, to build a cleaner and more responsible economy of the future.”
Nikola Pontara, director of the World Bank office, had a message for Serbian society, saying that “The green transition will not be cheap or easy — but it is the only way for Serbia to become more competitive, more resilient and to ensure long-term growth and a better quality of life.”
In the first panel entitled “Circular economy for the new age: Innovative and sustainable transformation of the Serbian economy”, the concepts of the circular economy and the possibilities to harmonize the Serbian economy with modern green standards were discussed.
