The Embassy of Canada in Belgrade and Air Serbia jointly organised a conference at the Canadian Embassy to announce the introduction of direct flights between Belgrade and Toronto
The event gathered Canada’s Ambassador to Serbia, Michèle Cameron, Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiří Marek, and Serbia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Nevena Jovanović.
Ambassador Cameron described the new route as one of the most powerful and tangible ways to enhance bilateral relations, strengthen mutual trust, and generate shared prosperity. She emphasised that the direct connection is expected to boost further trade, economic cooperation, and opportunities for people and businesses on both sides.
Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiří Marek, said that launching the Belgrade–Toronto service represents a strategic step in expanding the airline’s presence in North America. He highlighted that the new route will not only ease travel for the Serbian diaspora but also improve connectivity and encourage greater exchange between Serbia and Canada.
