Finland’s Independence Day was solemnly celebrated at the residence of the Embassy of Finland in Belgrade, with numerous guests from Serbia’s diplomatic, cultural, and public spheres in attendance

The hosts of the reception were Ambassador H.E. Mr. Niklas Lindqvist and Ms. Tracy Dolan. Among the guests were the Minister of Education, Dejan Vuk Stanković, as well as diplomats from other embassies, including the Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Edward Ferguson, and the Ambassador of Italy, Luca Gori.
“We celebrated Finland’s Independence Day together with our partners, colleagues, and friends, enjoying authentic Finnish cuisine and selected local wines. The evening was filled with inspiring conversations and sincere exchanges of ideas, and we already look forward to continued cooperation and joint projects in the year ahead,” the Embassy of Finland stated.

Finland’s national holiday is celebrated each year on 6 December. On this day in 1917, the Finnish Parliament adopted the Declaration of Independence, ending decades of belonging to the Russian Empire and proclaiming the Nordic country a sovereign state.
