The Embassy of India, Belgrade celebrated 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21, 2025 under the Victor Monument at Historical Kalemegdan Fortress overlooking the confluence of Danube and river Sava with the support of City of Belgrade
The Vidya Yoga and Isha Foundation partnered the Embassy in this celebration. Over 250 people participated in the event.
Ambassador Shubhdarshini Tripathi, on the occasion, spoke about Yoga in General and the enthusiasm shared by Serbian nationals for this ancient Indian tradition.
Millions of yoga practitioners and yoga enthusiasts have been celebrating 21 June as International Day of Yoga since 2015 as the United Nations adopted the resolution co-sponsored by 177 member states, including Serbia, in December 2014. This year, IDY is being celebrated across Serbia at 17 locations in 16 cities. In total, more than 1200 Yoga enthusiasts are expected to participate in the event all over Serbia.
Embassy of India is grateful to the City of Belgrade and security agencies for extending cooperation in organizing the event successfully.
