The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Belgrade marked the 54th National Day of the United Arab Emirates today, and the celebration was attended by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić

In addition to the President of the Republic, the National Day celebration at the St. Regis Hotel at Belgrade Waterfront was also attended by the Prime Minister of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Đuro Macut, ministers, members of parliament, as well as ambassadors of several countries in Serbia.
UAE Ambassador Ahmed Hatim Bargash Al Menhali expressed his satisfaction that the 54th anniversary of the founding of the state is being celebrated together in Belgrade, a friendly country.
The United Arab Emirates were founded after six emirates in the Persian Gulf — Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah — signed an agreement establishing the federation.

The agreement entered into force in 1971, and one year later the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah also joined the federation.
