HR.Weekend: The Leading Regional HR Conference Returns with Topics Shaping the Future of Work

From September 18–21, the HR.Weekend will take place at the historic Tobacco Factory in Rovinj

This unique festival of modern HR, held for the third time as part of Weekend.18, will address contemporary challenges and the evolving needs of the human resources industry, with a focus on innovation, dialogue, and practical tools for immediate application across regional organizations.

The program of the third HR.Weekend features expert panels and keynotes, offering opportunities for inspiring networking and knowledge exchange both within and beyond the HR industry. Participants will hear relevant insights that are redefining the HR domain—from the public sector to digital challenges, mental focus, labor relations, and achieving real efficiency.

“Our goal is not only to open important discussions but to create a space where HR professionals and leaders can gain concrete insights and actionable ideas they can apply immediately,” says Daniel Ackermann, Director of HR.Weekend, CEO of Degordian, and founder of Luppa, a platform for employee satisfaction and engagement research. “From artificial intelligence to generational shifts, these are the conversations shaping the future of work.”

Strategic HR and Talent Development

Asli Oktay, Head of HR at BAT Adria, will share her experience on how young talent grows into future leaders, drawing on examples from BAT’s Global Graduate Program. Her keynote focuses on the essential steps in career development, the importance of mentor-driven learning, and the strategic approach to talent development within dynamic and multicultural organizations.

Leadership in the Age of Change

The speed of business has never been greater, and leaders today face the challenge of maintaining focus and team motivation. Antonija Kapović, HR Director at Bugatti Rimac, who is focused on post-merger processes, team and organizational development, will discuss pay transparency and what the new EU Pay Transparency Directive means for businesses.

Today, even HR departments use AI tools such as ChatGPT to create job ads, write job descriptions, and even support candidate selection. But there are hidden risks, including privacy concerns, factual inaccuracies, and reputational damage. Maja Krejči, CEO of the startup Brombul, will explore the advantages and drawbacks of generative AI models in HR.

From the Management Board of Croatian Post to coaching, Alen Premužak has done (almost) everything. Dedicated to developing leadership, he teaches about its many aspects, promoting best practices, and helping organizations and leaders, as well as their teams, grow. Over his career, he has led small and large teams and organizations in both stable and turbulent markets—experience he now actively brings into his business workshops.

Three Days of Learning, Insights, and Ideas that Shift Perspectives

HR.Weekend is where new partnerships are born, critical issues are explored, and solutions to the questions shaping the future of work are found. Through interactive workshops and inspiring lectures, participants will gain practical solutions and the chance to connect with industry leaders.
