Alibaba Foundation and Jack Ma Foundation send donation of protective face masks and other medical supplies to Serbia to help tackle the COVID-19 health emergency

  • Initial shipment containing face masks has arrived in Serbia

  • Second shipment containing ventilators, testing kits, protective clothing, face shields and further masks will follow closely

  • The latest in a number of aid initiatives from the Alibaba Foundation and Jack Ma Foundation, which are donating medical supplies to help Europe combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus

The Alibaba Foundation and Jack Ma Foundation, established by the founder of the global technology company Alibaba Group, Jack Ma, is donating masks, ventilators, protective clothing and face shields to Serbia to support the fight against COVID-19.

A cargo flight loaded with an initial shipment of face masks departed from Shanghai, China and arrived at Belgrade airport.

This donation is among a number of aid initiatives from the Alibaba Foundation and Jack Ma Foundation to support the areas of the world most affected by the Covid-19 crisis, sourcing and delivering various types of medical supplies to Asia, North America, Africa, Europe and Latin America. The Foundations are also funding research and development of Covid-19 virus treatment options in China and at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Australia) and Columbia University (USA).

The Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation have published and distributed a handbook detailing learnings and best practices from the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, for treating Covid-19 patients which can be downloaded at https://covid-19.alibabacloud.com/, including in Serbian language.
