Ambassador of Egypt to Serbia receives from Minister of Culture a collection of books by select Serbian authors for new Presidential office in Cairo while reciprocating the gift of books to renowned Serbian libraries

Ambassador of Egypt to Serbia Amr Aljowaily hosted a ceremony in honor of H.E. Mr. Vladan Vukosavljevic, Minister of Culture and Media, in recognition of the contribution by National Library of Serbia, University Library “Svetozar Markovic”, and Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts of a collection of books to be displayed at the Serbian Pavilion of International Library at the Presidential Office in the new Administrative Capital, in Egypt.

Serbian Minister of Culture, Vladan Vukosavljevic, expressed his pleasure that Serbian culture will be featured at the international library of the Presidential office currently being constructed in the new administrative capital of Egypt, in a pavilion dedicated to Serbian literature and authors. “We have recently witnessed a remarkable revival of cultural activities brining the Serbian and Egyptian peoples even closer together”, recalling his participation as guest of honor at the culmination of the Egyptian Cultural Month last July.

On his turn, Ambassador Aljowaily said he was honored to present to the participating institutions the book he edited entitled “Serbia through Egyptian Eyes”, which features memoirs on Serbia by former Egyptian Ambassadors in Belgrade as well as reflections and paintings by prominent cultural figures. He announced the gift of 150 select Egyptian books to the National Library of Serbia, University Library “Svetozar Markovic”, and Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts offered by the General Egyptian Book Organization which participates in this year’s Belgrade International Book Fair for the first time.
