Pre-auction exhibition June 1st to 15th, 2020
This year, following the contemporary trends on the art market, ARTE Gallery is organising the first online auction in Serbia. Registrations for participation in the online auction bidding process started on June 1st 2020. The bidding finals will be held on Monday, June 15th, between 6 pm and 8 pm.
For the next two weeks, all the artworks selected for the auction sale can be seen at the pre-auction exhibition in ARTE Gallery showrooms (Kralja Milana 3, Andrićev venac 12, Belgrade).
Online auctions, which allow bidders to place their bids online over a period of two weeks – 24 hours a day and from almost anywhere worldwide – appeal to a large number of potential buyers who have become familiar with this method of purchasing at an auction. This type of platform is especially well-suited to decorative artworks in the lower to middle market price segments. This is why ARTE has decided to create a new category of auctions. Alongside our traditional saleroom auctions, these timed online auctions are designed for items with a broad international appeal.
In order to bid, you will need to register on our website aukcije.arte.rs In addition to your name and surname, your email address is needed so that we can inform you about the course of your bidding. If you need technical support regarding the auction or your registration, you can contact us via email firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone +381 65 9 199 109.
Carefully selected artworks, arranged in chronological order and connected by a poetic thread, represent a kind of cross-section of Yugoslav and Serbian artistic practice that covers the period from the beginning of the 20th to the first decades of the 21st century.
We are highlighting only a few names from the online auction selection, although all the artists are more than worthy of attention. The selection covers the artwork by Serbian impressionist and painting professor Beta Vukanović, A young Serbian woman with a flower in her hair, painting by Vasa Pomorišac, the author whose works are held in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, drawings by remarkable Ivan Radović, Igor Vasiljev’s phantasms, sea motifs by Milo Milunović, informalism of Mića Popović, Leonid Šejka’s drawings, paintings and works on paper by the great Vladimir Veličković, abstract forms and interiors by subtle artists Cuca Sokić and Nedeljko Gvozdenović, maestro Vojislav Jakić’s drawings, Misinformation by Radomir Damnjanović Damnjan, and wooden pedagogy by Marko Crnobrnja.
You can get a printed copy of the auction catalogue in our Galleries. Since this is the first online auction in Serbia, we wanted to set a good example of how this type of auctions should be executed. With its credibility and many years of successful work, the ARTE gallery guarantees the accuracy of every Lot description. Each item that is a part of the online auction is handled with the same care by experts as if it was a part of our traditional auction. The Lots purchased at the auction could be collected by the buyer 14 days after the purchase in the ARTE gallery spaces. There is also a possibility of organising the transport of art pieces to the desired address through a company of your choice or with our assistance. You can find all conditions of purchase for the online auction on our website aukcije.arte.rs , in the electronic catalogue.
