I am taking very good memories with me and hopefully also long-lasting friendships. We are not saying goodbye yet, right?“ she added.

How did you organise your diplomatic activities?

The Embassy of Israel is working in rotation in order to minimise the contact and the risk. Of course, the most urgent task was to make sure that all the Israelis who want to leave Serbia were able to do it safely and at the same time, to collaborate with the Serbian authorities to make sure that the Serbs would be able to leave Israel safely. We are closely following the developments here in Serbia. On Monday, the President of Israel and the President of Serbia had a very friendly conversation in which they exchanged views and ways to collaborate. How are you spending your private time during the pandemic?

Well, I am working from home, as you can see, so I am not really alone. Lucy is with me, right behind. I am also talking to my family in Israel and play board games online. I read and watch movies, mostly documentaries. I am also trying to renew some contacts with old friends when we all have time. I must say that, surprisingly enough, I am expanding my Serbian vocabulary, so that in addition to “Kako ste?”, “Dobro.”, “Nije loše.” and “Srećan rođendan!”, I have learned new words like “situacija”, “zaštita” and “zaraženi”. It is never too late to learn.

What will you do first after the state of emergency is abolished?

I will prepare my farewell, since I am leaving Serbia after four beautiful and exciting years here. I am taking very good memories with me and hopefully also long-lasting friendships. We are not saying goodbye yet, right?
