New Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić received the Letter of Credence of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shehryar Akbar Khan and wished him a pleasant stay and successful post in Belgrade.

President Vučić said that it is important for Serbia to foster and promote good relations with all the countries of the world. He stressed out that Serbia is interested in the development of economic cooperation with Pakistan as this cooperation by its scope and quality remains far below its potentials. The President added that the Pakistani ambassador can count on full support and assistance of all our institutions concerning the initiatives and ideas that may contribute to the more content-rich relations between Serbia and Pakistan.
Ambassador Khan said that Pakistan considers Serbia as the key country in the region and expressed his disposition toward the establishment of stronger ties between the two countries. He acquainted President Vučić with the Pakistani view of the current situation in Southern Asia.

Ambassador Mr. Shehryar Akbar Khan holds Masters in Business Administration (2004) and Bachelors of Science (Honors, 1990). He was Third Secretary at the Embassy of Pakistan, People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria; First Secretary/Counsellor at the Embassy of Pakistan, Budapest (Hungary); Consul / Head of Mission, Consulate of Pakistan, Glasgow (United Kingdom) and Consul General Consulate General of Pakistan, Jeddah (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). Mr. Shehryar Akbar Khan has held different posts at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.
