“New Year’s Box” continues to bring presents to Belgrade children this December

METRO Cash & Carry and Credit Agricole Bank Serbia, in cooperation with the City of Belgrade and the Food Bank of Belgrade, are organizing a traditional charity project, “New Year’s Box”, on Wednesday, December 11, at Sava Center, starting at noon. The main objective of the project is to provide support to families of sensitive financial status, and, most importantly, to improve the lives of children living in them.

In order for kids, regardless of the material status of their families, to enjoy the holidays and festive atmosphere, like in the previous years, the organizers have prepared entertainment and educational program, as well as a get-together with the project’s mascot – Dobrila the Fairy. Within this charity project, organized for over a decade, in addition to meeting new friends in a fun and festive atmosphere, children can also look forward to what brings them the most joy, which are, of course, presents. Each child between the ages of three and six will get a New Year’s gift-pack containing a variety of sweets, savoury snacks and toys.

The New Year’s Box, an annual event that includes all 17 Belgrade municipalities, is marked by organizing holiday gatherings and providing gifts for around 1000 children. So far, more than 15.000 New Year’s gift-packs have been distributed to children from socially disadvantaged families in Belgrade, with the aim of improving their position, and bringing closer the warmth and fun of the festive atmosphere.
