Ninth cycle of national scholarship programs “For Women in Science”

Young women engaged in scientific research in the field of natural sciences can apply for national scholarships within the world-famous L’Oréal program – UNESCO for Women in Science (L’Oréal – UNESCO For Women in Science). The 2019 competition is in progress and lasts until March 31st, and within the new cycle of this program, three scholarships will be awarded, each in the amount of five thousand euros in dinar counter value.

For scholarships “For Women in Science” can apply research scientists in the field of natural sciences, they are up to 35 years old and enrolled in doctoral studies or have already completed them. The National Scholarship Program is part of the large global program L’Oréal – UNESCO “For Women in Science”, which includes various forms of support and affirmation of the role of women researchers and their contribution to scientific advancement. Currently it exists in more than 50 countries around the world, and it was launched in Serbia in 2010 and is being implemented in partnership between the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the National Commission for UNESCO and the company L’Oreal Balkan.

These scholarships are awarded every year with the aim of further scientific and professional development of young scientists. They also represent a kind of support for these talented and dedicated women to, at a time that may be a key to their scientific career, advance their scientific research work and an incentive to continue to teach science in Serbia. Participation in this program for young scientists has also enabled access to the international community of women in science.

Scholarships will be announced at a ceremonial ceremony to be held in Belgrade in the autumn of 2019.
