Carlsberg Serbia and the Traffic Safety Agency of the Republic of Serbia started campaign, within which they educate about the dangers of irresponsible consumption. They will do so during the simulation of driving under the influence in front of the Rajićeva shopping center. When we drink, we misjudge situations, our decisions are not rational, and our coordination and precision of movement are weak – this is something that everyone who tries the simulator will notice. The campaign will last until September 5.
Carlsberg Serbia continuously implements activities aimed at reducing irresponsible consumption, and with the slogan “When it drives me, I don’t drive. I consume alcohol responsibly“. Through the organization of practical programs Carlsberg highlights the danger of driving under the influence of alcohol.
“Alcohol should be enjoyed responsibly towards oneself and others. We wanted to simulate driving under the influence and practically show that alcohol affects our perception as a driver and that is why it is important not to sit behind the wheel under his influence. We decide for ourselves whether the moments of socializing and good time will remain in our fond memories“, said Vladimir Vava, General Manager of Carlsberg Serbia Group.
All those who stop in front of TC Rajićeva until September 5 and try out the simulator, which is available every day from 4 to 8 p.m., will have the opportunity to make sure that drinking and driving are not a good combination.
Driving under the influence of alcohol is one of the most common causes of traffic accidents with fatalities and injuries. According to the research of the Road Traffic Safety Agency of the Republic of Serbia from 2020, about 16% of the dead and injured drivers in Serbia were under the influence of alcohol.
“Even the smallest amounts of alcohol in the blood have a very negative effect on driving abilities, because alcohol degrades them by prolonging the reaction time, affects the poorer assessment of the situation, weakens coordination and precision of movement and leads to a change in behavior while driving, ie. causes risky behavior. The data show that drivers are usually left without a driver’s license due to driving under the influence of alcohol. The annual number is about 800 reckless drivers, whose cause is the effect of alcohol.. Given the facts, it is important that with joint efforts, through various educational and preventive activities, we participate in the socially responsible campaign “When it drives me, I don’t drive. I consume alcohol responsibly “and that we reach as many people as possibleand achievegoal of raising awareness when it comes to traffic safety,” said Duško Pešić, director of the Road Traffic Safety Agency of the Republic of Serbia.
Through its brands, Carlsberg Serbia has been implementing Carlsberg’s global strategy “Together to Zero” for years. One of the four key pillars of this strategy is called “ZERO IRRESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION” and is based on raising awareness of the importance of responsible alcohol consumption.
