SPECIALIZED PROGRAMMES: Ongoing at the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina

At the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, the fifth cycle of the Specialized Programme “Management of the Regional Development through EU Funds” has ended this month. However, the new sixth cycle is to start tomorrow, in which 44 new participants, employed in local self-government units, provincial administration, development agencies, public and public utility companies, educational institutions, cultural institutions, civil society organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises, faculties, institutes and research institutions, and other institutions eligible to be beneficiaries of EU funds, competed to gain new theoretical and practical knowledge.

The ceremony of certificate award to the participants ended the fifth cycle of the Specialized Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU Funds“, which the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina traditionally organises under the auspices of the Provincial Government of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. At the ceremony, the participants were addressed by Đorđe Milićević, Vice-president of the Provincial Government, Vidosava Enderić, Director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina and Aleksandar Andrejević, PhD, Rector of Educons University in Sremska Кamenica.

Congratulating the participants on the successfully completed programme, Vice-president Milićević emphasized that our country was committed to the European integration process and that the Provincial Government was an active factor in building a modern, stable and developed Republic of Serbia. One of the important sources of financing in achieving our goals of strong and balanced development, as Milićević stated, was the pre-accession funds.

“This is why the Specialized Programme is very important, through which we will have educated people with knowledge of institutions in the decision-making and procedures of the European Union, of the preparation and implementation of development projects for the use of available EU funds. Given that the participants are from the whole territory of Vojvodina, this will ensure prospects for sustainable regional development, which contributes to the enhancement of employment possibilities and improvement of the everyday life of our citizens,” said Vice-president Milićević.
Director Enderić reminded of the course of the five-month programme and emphasized that over 200 participants from more than 28 municipalities of AP Vojvodina had finished the Specialized Programme.

“The great interest of persons shows that the task we have set at the beginning has been fulfilled. For that purpose, this year we have tried, in cooperation with Educons University, and with the financial support of the Provincial Government, to provide more teaching units compared to previous years, to invite foreign lecturers who have shared with you their experience and examples of best practice in the management of EU funds and programmes.”
Aleksandar Andrejević, PhD, Rector of Educons University, spoke highly of the cooperation with the Provincial Government and the Fund, and expressed his hope that the cooperation in the future would be even more fruitful.

Tomorrow, new 44 participants will be welcomed by Ognjen Bjelić, Provincial Secretary for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government and Vidosava Enderić, Director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, who will wish them successful education.
