Aleksandra Đurđević, Director of Delta Auto Group: Good energy and spirit carry business in times like these

Probably just, like many others today, we are adjusting ourselves and we are facing the circumstances quicker and more skilfully than we thought we were able

We spoke with Aleksadra Đurđević, Director of Delta Auto Group, about organization of their business activities during the state of emergency, as well as how she is spending her time during pandemic. “Good organization and fast and thoughtful reactions are now crucial, but in these circumstances the most important thing is to maximally protect the employees, give them security and maintain good level of energy and spirit” said Mrs. Đurđević.

How did you organize your business activities?

Probably just like many others today, we are adjusting ourselves and we are facing the circumstances quicker and more skilfully than we thought we were able.

At places where we are in contact with customers we have applied the strictest sanitary measures, and in order to be sure that business would not stop, we have divided employees in showrooms and workshops in two teams without any physical contact with each other. The colleagues from the departments that are not in contact with customers work mainly from home and we have regular online conferences. Also, we have quite intensive and good communication with ino-principals and dealerships, in order to adjust business in the best way possible and optimize everything that is possible, and to be innovative and proactive as well. There’s no bad time for innovations and good ideas.

In all workshops, including the dealerships, we have actions that give, aside from current disinfections of air-conditioning and space, a free of charge service “Pick up and delivery” with necessary disinfection measures before and after work, to which customers react well since they are saving time and they can stay in their homes. We are making video presentations of models, developing new ways of communication with customers through online tools, we are active on social networks, we are talking about our brands, informing and also entertaining them.
We are also using this period for intensive trainings, our team of technical and product coaches is performing video education and working hard on recording materials for our colleagues, so that we can be ready for the upcoming models and technologies.

Good organization and fast and thoughtful reactions are now crucial, but in these circumstances the most important thing is to maximally protect the employees, give them security and maintain good level of energy and spirit.
Good energy and spirit carry business in times like these.

How do you spend your time?

Since we have six locations where we are in contact with customers, I am trying to visit colleagues daily and see if they need anything.

Otherwise, I read a lot, I do yoga and watch cartoons. A day or two ago, I watched “Jungle Book” with my six years old son Vuk. For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack’’ is a part where Kipling managed to describe well the basics of a strong community, thus reminding me how they come up front, especially in challenging situations like this one.

For me it is very important, now more than ever, for every colleague to feel how important he or she is to our team, and how much they contribute but also how much the team is important and how much it’s always there for every one of us.

What’s the first thing you’re going to do after this situation pass?

I don’t feel a special urge to compensate something as soon as this rolls by, nor to satisfy any of my needs as soon as possible. Foremost, I do not feel nervous or frustrated with the situation. A lot of surprising things one can do for oneself and on oneself, and for the others, especially in circumstances like these. But, I do miss the nature and am looking forward to getting back to it, because we’ll be able to see it recovering itself.
When work is concerned, we shall continue step by step from the place we found ourselves in, we shall learn and build, and that’s the best remedy for every recovery.

Someone said it well, You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to ride them”. My plan is to set sails as well.
