This year, the traditional auction of the ARTE gallery will be held online again, on the aukcije.arte.rs website, for the 14th consecutive time. The art market has experienced numerous changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Adapting to the “new reality” meant moving a large amount of content to online platforms.
By transferring to the virtual world of presentation and communication, we have overcome the limitations of travel, health risks and have also satisfied people’s need to enjoy works of art.
Due to the aforementioned reasons, this June, we will hold an online auction, where the bidding period will last 11 days, 24 hours a day. You can bid from almost any location in the world. All available items were exhibited during our pre-auction exhibition at the ARTE Gallery in Belgrade (3, Kralja Milana Street and 12, Andrićev Venac Street).
If you are unable to visit the exhibition, you can request status reports and photographs of the artwork you are interested in.
The auction exhibition will last from May 31 to June 6, 2021 (10-20h) in two gallery spaces of the ARTE Gallery, at 12, Andrićev Venac and 3, Kralja Milana streets.
The auction catalogue in electronic form with reproductions of the artwork, the information and estimated values of the lots will be available on the website aukcije.arte.rs
The auction will feature the works of art by the most prominent Serbian artists – Sava Šumanović, Petar Dobrović, Ivan Radović, Bora Stevanović, Milan Konjović, Milo Milunović, Stojan Ćelić, Ljubica Cuca Sokić, Petar Omčikus, Mića Popović, Leonid Šejka, Vladimir Veličković, Dado Đurić, Ljuba Popović, Radomir Damnjanović Damnjan, Sreten Stojanović, Miodrag Živković and Marko Crnobrnja which can be seen at the exhibition, as well as on the website aukcija.arte.rs and in the auction catalogue, which contains detailed information about the auctioned artwork.
The curiosity of this pre-auction exhibition is three works by the famous conceptual artist Marina Abramović, from her early painting period.
The selection of works for the spring auction of the ARTE Gallery presents a chronological overview of the leading trends in 20th-century art while focusing on the main trends in contemporary art.
