Bastille Day is marked with a reception at the French ambassador in Belgrade

In the residence of the French Embassy in Belgrade, a formal reception was held on the occasion of the celebration of the national holiday (Fête Nationale), also called Bastille Day. This holiday is celebrated every year on July 14 to commemorate the Storming of the Bastille in 1789, the event that turned the tide of the French Revolution and resulted in the creation of the French Republic.

The reception on the occasion of the national holiday of France, which was organized by H.E. Ambassador Pierre Cochard, was also attended by the Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Nebojša Stefanović, Siniša Mali, Minister of Finance, Jadranka Joksimović, Minister for European Integration and many other distinguished guests and friends of France.

The reception was preceded by the laying of wreaths on the Monument of Gratitude to France at Kalemegdan, where H.E. Ambassador Pierre Cochard was joined by Zorana Mihajlović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy.
