British International School in Belgrade: The host of Traditional Karate Competition for Children

Karate club Diplomatik, in collaboration with the British International School in Belgrade, organised a traditional New Year’s competition in karate, on Thursday 16 December, from 4 pm to 6 pm.

The competitors (120 of them) who are all members of the karate club Diplomatik competed in katas and sport fight, while the beginners competed in karate technique. The club members are mostly students of the international schools in Belgrade. The competition took place in a newly built, beautiful campus of the British International School in Belgrade, located on Dedinje, at Neznanog junaka 36, in a fully furnished PE gym, in the presence of guests, diplomatic corps representatives and the officials of the Municipality of Savski Venac.

On behalf of the British International School, the Head of School, Mr Neil Howie and the Director of Education, Ms Aleksandra Keserović, gave a speech, whereas Ms Keserović said the following: „I am very happy that the British International School is the host of this competition. We nurture a hollistic approach to the education. We pay special attention to sport activities, as a part of the education, because the health of the children comes first. We want the competition to be fair. I would like to express my thanks to the representatives of the diplomatic corps, the officials of the Municipality of Savski Venac, the companies who supported the event and all of you who have come here today to cheer.“
