The first and largest integrated online and TV shop in the region, Shoppster, began its journey as an ambitious project aimed at creating a modern e-commerce platform in line with the latest formats used by the globally successful companies in this industry. A leading telecommunications and media operator in Southeast Europe, United Group, is behind this project. The Group is known for redefining technology and innovation standards in every country in which it operates.

Shoppster has been active for over a year now. How would you tell your story this far? What would you highlight as the key to your success?  

First and foremost, our team possesses the know-how and experience of the greatest experts who were instrumental in reaching success. We celebrated the first year of business as an established, strong platform, a pioneer, innovator and a leader in modern online shopping. Shoppster offers customers a range of over 150,000 products and more than 2,500 brands, as well as a user experience based on efficiency, safety and ease of buying and selling. The logistics that enable all this are modelled after the largest European e-commerce markets and current delivery trends.

Shoppster is an integrated platform. Apart from e-commerce, customers have the choice of ordering after they see the products on a specialized TV channel. How much does the TV channel contribute to the overall sales?

It was extremely important to use the potential that the unique sales channel that is Shoppster TV channel has since the consumers get their information mostly via television. It was equally important to use it at a time when we were all confined to our homes during the state of emergency, and when traditional shopping was almost completely disabled. This was very difficult for the average domestic consumer who wants to see a certain product with their own eyes, touch it, and test its quality on the spot. The Shoppster TV channel has successfully replaced that need – we have assembled a great team of new and established TV personalities, i.e. TV presenters who are trusted and who are not only here to sell the product, but to practically convince the viewers of its quality.

The Made in Italy corner you designed and launched together with Confindustria Serbia is pretty innovative and highlights a new way of communicating with consumers. Could you tell us more about it? How did it start?

We want Shoppster to become a starting point for new cultures, a place where our customers can feel the spirit of countries, peoples, their customs and consumer habits. That is why I am extremely glad that Confindustria Serbia has recognized Shoppster as an ideal partner. It is very important to mention that Confindustria advocates the same goals as Shoppster, namely improving the business climate in Serbia and supporting ideas and projects that open the door to a wider market for business people.

During the last week of November, Shoppster took part in the celebration of the Day of Italian Cuisine in the World and, on that occasion, we organized a special promotion of Italian products and brands under the name Days of Italy.

Which are your bestsellers? Do you think Shoppster is a good address for SMEs? Do you support them in their steps towards embracing e-commerce?
