More than 5 million dinars for newborns in the MK Group

The traditional ‘Support to Family’ campaign, with the MK Group granting financial subsidies to the system employees who became parents in the current year, continues in the year marked by the coronavirus pandemic as well. More than five million dinars has been allocated for 146 newborns whose one parent works for the MK Group in Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia in 2020.

At an event in the Sheraton Hotel, where the new parents from the company gathered at a video conference, Aleksandar Kostić, the MK Group VP, said that 620 families and more than 1,000 children were rewarded with a total of more than 31 million dinars through the ‘Support to Family’ campaign in the past four years. “The MK Group is strategically focused on nurturing true values, primarily family ones, and therefore I am proud of the fact that we are ending this year as well with support to the families who have received a new member this year,’ noted Kostić, adding that everyone knows that we are living at the time where uncertainty has become common, but that the MK Group remains dedicated to supporting its employees and the social community where it operates.

‘With the ‘Support to Family’ campaign and today’s event, the MK Group, the first laureate of the ‘Family Friend’ Award, granted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the Serbian government, celebrates life, something that is most important for each parent, celebrates children and future. The MK Group has been developing values of creation, responsibility and sustainability for 35 years,’ commented Marko Čadež, the CCIS President. His message for the parents was to teach their children the same values they follow in the company – to be hardworking, persistent and to be fighters, just like the company founder, Miodrag Kostić and VP Aleksandar Kostić.

Ana Micić, an MK Group employee, also underlined the importance of the employer’s support. ‘I am glad that the MK Group’s ‘Support to Family’ campaign has become traditional. Now when part of the worries and difficulties we who have got a baby this year have encountered is over, this gesture of the employer means a lot,’ said Micić.

The MK Group is one of the most successful regional groups, operating in the agribusiness, financial and tourism sectors. Through numerous activities and CSR projects, the company aims to provide an adequate contribution to the local community and support the system employees. In 2020, the company has focused on assisting the healthcare system of the Republic of Serbia in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with more than one million euros donated for procuring respirators, medical equipment, food and other necessities to vulnerable groups and healthcare professionals.
