The conference “Impact 2019” will be held in Belgrade on 19 and 20 February, the largest conference in central and southeastern Europe dedicated to investments for social enterprises and start-ups. The conference is being held at Kombank dvorana and will gather numerous experts from the region and the world who will present their funds, accelerators, innovations and development in the field of social entrepreneurship and startup industry to the audience.
At the conference in Belgrade, more than 60 speakers from seventeen countries of the world are participating, and organizers expect the presence of more than 250 participants. In one place investors, corporations, foundations, startups, social enterprises, and associations with the same goal will be found – to increase opportunities and opportunities for Serbian and regional startups and social enterprises to get an investment for their business. Representatives of the South Balkan Fund, the European Investment Fund, the European Fund for Southeastern Europe, as well as a number of individual investors and foreign investment funds – Oltre Venture, MiLa Capital and others.
Brodoto Agency and ACT Group from Croatia held their first conference last year in Zagreb, and this year they decided to bring the world’s social economy investors to Belgrade.
– This year’s “Impact 2019” conference will be much more significant and bigger than last year’s. Our desire is that the idea of investing in businesses that create a positive social change is expanding and recognizing in our society the potential that this type of business has. Nevertheless, we are most proud of the fact that social enterprises and startups from Serbia will have the opportunity to talk to more than 30 investors and present their ideas to them – said Vladica Jovanovic, director of the Brodoto agency in Serbia and the organizer of the conference.
The fact that social entrepreneurship has great potential is also the story of an increasing number of companies that choose this type of business not only in the world, but also in our country. The “Impact 2019” conference seeks to support these ideas, to mingle entrepreneurs with investors, but also to educate the general public about this type of business.
