The Nelt Group Continues With Intermodal Transport Development

The terminal in Kruševac started operating

Nelt’s Intermodal Terminal in the city of Kruševac started operating by dispatching goods by railway via Budapest to a final destination in the European Union. Activation of the first terminal in Central Serbia marked the continuation of the development plan for Nelt’s intermodal transport network. Located in the industrial zone, in the immediate vicinity of “Morava Corridor” and connected with pan-European Corridor 10 via Dedina station, it is of strategic relevance for Serbia and the region.

The terminal in Kruševac represents an extension of the logistics infrastructure of the region and territorial expansion of Nelt’s logistics service portfolio. The development plan for this business segment of the company is to establish regular railway services with ports in the region and logistics hubs in the EU and Turkey.

“Since the opening of the terminal in the logistics centre in Dobanovci in 2016, we have actively been contributing to the development of intermodality in regional supply chains. This type of transport brings financial, social and environmental benefits. A combination of sea, railway and road transport has become a key solution regarding energy efficiency and reduction of industrial emissions in the process of decarbonising supply chains,” said Robert Jenovai, Executive Director of Nelt for the Serbian market.

With its strategic and geographic position and equipped with railway tracks, the terminal in Kruševac provides comprehensive logistics support in container reload, vehicle parking, weighing, freight forwarding, container delivery and shipping. It is at disposal to all participants in multimodal operations, existing and future business partners in various industries, while guaranteeing high-quality service based on operational excellence as Nelt’s teams’ day-to-day priority.
