UN in Serbia and the O3one Gallery launch a competition for muralists and street artists on UN75 anniversary
On the occasion of the UN 75th anniversary, UN Country Team in Serbia and the O3one Gallery are launching a competition for artists to paint mural at the UN House in Belgrade. The theme of the competition coincides with the official theme of the UN 75th anniversary “Shaping our Future Together”. For the people in Serbia, according to the UN75 survey, environmental protection and climate change are the most important issues that should be addressed through international cooperation; increasing solidarity and improving universal access to health care are some of the main priorities.
“As we want to emphasize the importance of sustainable development related topics for all people in Serbia, and as a sign of gratitude to everyone for participating in the global consultations, we decided to paint these voices on the largest wall of the UN House in Serbia,” says Aleksandra Stamenković, Communications and Advocacy Officer at the UN Country Team in Serbia.
The theme of the competition is Planet Earth is Our Home. The topic should be localized to Serbia, with references to the natural, cultural and richness of communities in Serbia.
“We gladly support projects that affect the improvement of our living environment, because they remind us how important it is, above all, for us as individuals. This project is a challenge and covers everything that the O3ONE gallery cares about and strives for,” says Nebojša Babić, the founder of the O3ONE Project. An expert jury consisting of representatives of UN agencies and the O3ONE Gallery Council will evaluate all works in the context of the artistic impression and interpretation of the theme. The winner of the competition will receive a valuable prize in the amount of 2,500.00 euros in dinars at the middle exchange rate of the National Bank of Serbia. The competition is open from October 9 to October 21, 2020 until 6 p.m. The works on mural are planned from October 24 to October 30, 2020.
