Surveillance drones for the first time over Telenor 5G test network

For the first time in Serbia, the work of surveillance drones of start-up Easy Aerial d.o.o. Serbia, was demonstrated on 5G network. The demonstration was held in the Science-Technology Park Belgrade, within Telenor test 5G environment, and it’s interesting that Easy Aerial tested its solution in Belgrade one week before it could do it in New York.

“5G technology is bringing to the society a solution of excluding any delay in data transfer, which is very important for our solution. We are using it to fly drones and “upload” photos taken by the camera on the drone itself.  Then the drone recognises whether someone or something is moving around the space and, if so, alarms those who should be alarmed. The aim of these systems is to enable advanced, smart and reliable video-surveillance and integration with other smart protection systems. Therefore, it has major application in emergency services systems, such as ambulance, fire-fighters and air forces”, says Ninoslav Adžibaba, one of the founder of Easy Aerial, start-up, whose development centre is located in the Science-Technology Park Belgrade and which has clients in 20 countries on five continents, and adds: “Recently, the Miami PD became our client, which is using our drones for the surveillance of the last Super Bowl (annual championship of the American football league NFL), and in the USA we are already cooperating with the police, fire departments and air force”.

The use of drones on 5G network means that the need for emergency services staff to be trained to fly drones is eliminated, since that is done with 5G technology from the control centre, with no delay in data transfer.

“When we were installing the first 5G base station, the idea was to enable national companies, start-ups and students to test their solutions here, as if they were anywhere else in the world. We have managed to be also faster, and are inviting all those who have solutions or ideas to contact us so that we can come up with specific applications together, even before 5G is developed, so as to gain insight into everything this advanced technology is bringing us”, says Saša Leković, CTO in Telenor.

Easy Aerial is an American company which started working in 2015, while Easy Aerial d.o.o. Serbia is a development centre located in Science-Technology Park Belgrade. It is developing its innovative solutions in Serbia, while the final products are made in the US.
