All important media trends in one place in Rovinj from 22nd to 25th September!
Global brands in different cultures, digitisation of radio and revolutionary potential blockchain technology – it is only a small part of intriguing topics that the 9th Weekend Media Festival brings to the regional communications industry. In the rooms of the old tobacco factory in the city, under the auspices of the Adris Group, Weekend will last from 22nd to 25th September and it will bring more than 120 speakers and about 4000 media, marketing and PR professionals. They will be joined by 350 students from across the region and around 550 accredited journalists.
“We outlined an ambitious goal, and that is the ninth Weekend should be so good that everyone will want to come to the tenth anniversary. Once again we stepped into some new themes and re-open the first story of a completely new technology which will in a few years be talked about everywhere. Do not forget, of course, a good fun, but this year there will be even more fun and it will be even better” promises Tomo Rico, director of Weekend Media Festival.
The list of lecturers is led by Shawn Pecas Costner, who worked 18 years in the music industry and led the promotion of musicians such as Rihanna, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Big Sean and many others, and he is executive director of the Roc Nation Sports, the sports company management, owned by the famous hip hop mogul Jay Z. Lazar Džamić, director of strategic planning in several London creative agencies and one of the first digital strategists in the UK, will offer nearly perfect recipe for creating successful advertising messages in light of the world which is easy ignoring things. There will be Jarno Vanhatapio and Magnus Emilson, the duo behind NA-KD.com, the Swedish fashion webshop, which delivers goods made by the world’s leading brands in more than 100 countries worldwide. “One on one talk” will this year be reserved for Zoran Šprajc and CEO of Croatian Telecom Davor Tomašković.
“Teachers in the programmes ensure us that this year in Rovinj we will be able to offer information on the latest trends in the world. In the panel discussions we will also bring together people in a creative and innovative way to connect Croatia and the region with the world”, said Nikola Vrdoljak, Director of Weekend.
Radio is back in a big way and we at the Weekend panel will try to explain why the media which many claimed futureless, has on the contrary, big growth in advertising budgets and we will see what are the innovations the have enabled the rise of a new radio. The musical programme has always been one of the strongest points of Weekend Media Festival. So it will be this year, because it was already known that the festival program will be open big concert f Hlanod Pivo band on Thursday 22 September.
