Donor Dinner of the HISBAS Association

Fundraiser Aims to Collect €100,000 for a New Support Center for Children with Neurological Challenges.

The Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida Association of Serbia (HISBAS) is organizing a high-profile donor dinner on Wednesday, October 25, at the esteemed Sir Gilles restaurant in Belgrade, marking the commemoration of World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day. The event underscores an ambitious endeavor to collect funds essential for inaugurating a dedicated center for children and youth dealing with these conditions.

HISBAS has a longstanding tradition of acknowledging this significant day, aiming to enlighten the public about the children in their focus who confront an array of challenges and who merit incorporation into daily social activities. This year, the association is setting its sights on establishing a fully equipped center to serve its young members.

The envisioned HISBAS center will be a basis for providing efficient, reliable, and substantiated support, significantly easing the financial strains on families seeking such specialized services. The center’s objective extends beyond health, focusing on enhancing social interaction, functional abilities, and coordination among the children, thereby enriching their world through movement and social engagement.

To realize this vision, HISBAS has outlined a need for specialized equipment including a GIGER table, Pragma apparatus, Galileo vibration plate, TheraSuits, an electric therapeutic table, and various exercise props, with a total funding goal of €100,000.

The donor evening promises an interesting experience, featuring performances by renowned artists Aleksandra Radović, Sergej Ćetković, and Nemanja Radošević. Adding to the enthusiasm, the event will host an auction offering art pieces, autographed memorabilia from celebrated athletes and clubs, and a raffle draw with exquisite prizes. The evening’s proceedings will be conducted by actor Nenad Okanović, while the raffle is set to be overseen by the beloved Suzana Mančić.

HISBAS extends a warm invitation to all benevolent individuals to partake in this noble cause, aiding those who face life’s difficulties from the start. Tickets are priced at 4,000 RSD, with confirmations of attendance required by October 20, 2023. Confirmations can be sent via email to hisbas.serbia@gmail.com or through a call to Maja Kanazir at +381 62 771 040, Ivana Trbojević at +381 69 3200717, or Ljiljana Katunac at +381 64 1899023.

This event is not just a fundraiser; it’s a beacon of hope for families and children who endure the trials posed by neurological conditions. It’s an opportunity for the community to stand in solidarity, demonstrating that support can usher in monumental changes in the lives of these brave young individuals.
