Evropa Nostra Serbia and the EU Delegation in Serbia held a ceremony to award the “Heritage Heroes” award established for personal contribution in the field of preservation and promotion of cultural heritage in the Republic of Serbia.
At the ceremony held last night in the Yugoslav Cinematheque, the first laureate Stanka Čoban was presented, who was awarded for her dedicated work in preserving intangible and material heritage in “Didina Kuća” in Bač. This place, full of costumes, photographs, furniture, mother’s and grandmother’s dowries, preserves the memory not only of family tradition but also of the culture of the Šoká community and other peoples in this area.
