Telekom Srbija, m: tel Montenegro and m: tel BiH organized in Podgorica the finals of the competition for mobile application – “Regional app challenge”, aimed at talented high school students. Among the many quality applications, the “Collector” team from the Bolyai Gymnasium from Senta, “Sound Workshop” from the Banja Luka Gymnasium and the application “Đee Bus” team from the secondary Electrical School Vaso Aligrudic from Podgorica as the main prize get the way to Berlin at one of the leading international IoT conferences. The special innovation award “Power of Innovation – Igor Osmokrovic”, in the form of the latest generation smartphone, was awarded to the team from the “Svetozar Markovic” Gymnasium from Nis, for the application “VirSpeak”.
General Manager of Telekom Srbija Predrag Ćulibrk pointed out that the future is shining ahead of the region, thanks to the great potential of these young people. “Telekom Serbia is steadily walking through innovation and keep up with the development of technologies and we are very pleased that at the same time another generation of young people has arrived and will be ready to meet all the challenges of the current digitization process. Telekom Srbija strives to motivate young people to be creative, and above all proactive, in order to bring their ideas to realization. The company has therefore launched the program “Let’s start the drivers” in the framework of projects that encourage the development of entrepreneurial spirit among young people, and the mts app competition and the Regional App challenge are projects that lead the young people towards this goal, “said Ćulibrk.
At the presentation of the award, the Executive Director of m: tel CG Vladimir Lučić expressed satisfaction with the quality of the ideas and their applicability in the modern way of communication, when everyday life is unthinkable without smartphones that make it easier. “In the name of the company m: tel, I would like to emphasize that we are extremely proud of all participants of the competition, creative young people who showed an enviable level of knowledge, a great team and entrepreneurial spirit and the will to work hard on the process of creating applications that facilitate communication in the modern world” , Lucic said and reminded that the Digital Factory in Podgorica since 2017 creates the ideal ambience for stimulating an innovative spirit, the production of ideas and their realization through the creation of startups. “We are changing the view of reality because digitization is actually a way of thinking, and this comes gradually. These great young people, our competitors from all three countries – have just made a significant first step in entering the world of applications into the digital world. This is just the beginning for them, because we believe that we will all together be witnesses of their new informational achievements, “Lucic concluded.
The members of the winning team from Senta stated that their participation in the mts app competition and the Regional App challenge was extremely valuable experience. “This is the third year we participate in the competition and we are happy because we have won the main prize now. We believe that in Berlin we will see many new things and interesting things and expand our knowledge in the field of IoT technology, “said Senta’s gymnasiums.
The regional competition for the production of mobile applications has grown in the tradition of the Telekom Srbija Group, which, in addition to the chance to win valuable prizes for creative young people, winners of national finals, offers the opportunity to compete with its peers from the region and exchange experience and knowledge.
