In a very cordial atmosphere Greece’s national holiday was celebrated this year in Belgrade, on 25 March. It is the day of the establishment of the modern Greek sovereign state, i.e of the Greek 1821 Uprising.
The Greek Ambassador Mr Konstantinos Ikonomidis hosted a reception at the Hyatt Hotel in Belgrade, which was attended by the Greek community in Belgrade, representatives of the diplomatic corps and the international community in Serbia, as well as many friends and associates of the Greek diplomatic mission in Belgrade.
The reception was graced with the presence of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, as well as representatives of the Government of Serbia. Minister of Internal Affairs g. Nebojša Stefanović, Minister of Culture and Information g. Ivan Tasovac and the former Defence Minister, Mr. Bratislav Gašić.
