On the occasion of the presentation of the joint project of AIK Bank, Mastercard and Apex, which implies the introduction of possibilities for paying Mastercard cards in public transport vehicles in Belgrade, and the setting of 6,000 new payment validators, a press conference was held in the City Assembly.
Payment of tickets will be made available from January 2018 and will be done simply by uploading any Mastercard contactless card to the validator and this device will mark the purchased card successfully by sound and message on the display. Each payment is protected by multi-layer security mechanisms already applied to Mastercard contactless payments. In addition to Mastercard contactless cards, payment in public transport vehicles will also be performed by the owners of digital cards in mobile phones. GradCard is a payment card, which will allow payment from January 2018 not only in city transport, but also at any point of sale that accepts Mastercard cards.
