Thursday, on 28 January 2020, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection marked the Data Protection Day. Speakers are: Mr. Milan Marinović, Commissioner; H.E. Sem Fabrizi, Head of EU Delegation to Serbia; H.E. Jan Braathu, Head of OSCE Mission to Serbia; Mr. Tobias Flessenkemper, Head of Council of Europe Office in Belgrade and Mr. Mike de la Rosa, Mission Director, USAID Serbia. The Commissioner stated that this year marks the 40th anniversary of the opening for signature of the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data, the first legally binding international treaty in this area. Unfortunately, this year the anniversary will be celebrated under certain circumstances due to a pandemic. Mr. Marinović thanked the EU and international organizations for supporting independent institutions in the Republic of Serbia.
