“The World in 2022” Conference, December 14th, The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia

The Economist annual conference titled “The World in 2022” will be held this year at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, on December 14, starting at 9 am.

The participants of the conference will gather in the National Assembly’s small hall, and this year, the audience will be able to watch the live stream of the conference on a YouTube channel.

“The World in 2022” conference is one of the oldest conferences organized by Color Media Communications and has already become recognized as an event that closes the current year with conclusions about the political, business and social environment of Serbia and discusses important issues in the coming year. The 10th jubilee “The World in 2022” Conference will be held on December 14, 2021, at the National Assembly in Belgrade.

As every year, the top officials from the Serbian and Vojvodinian governments, representatives of the diplomatic corps and bilateral chambers and associations, economists and leading business people from Serbia and the region, as well as public and cultural figures, will attend the conference. This year, through panel discussions and case studies, conference participants will talk about the challenges facing the world in 2022, the consequences of the global pandemic on the Serbian and global economy and how to overcome them, how culture has responded to the challenges of the past year and what is expected next year.

The conference will be opened by Aleksandar Vučić, President of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Maja Gojković, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information, Zorana Mihajlović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, Zoran Radojičić, Mayor of Belgrade, Dejana Kostadinova, Director of UNICEF in Serbia, Francesca Bonelli, Director of UNHCR in Serbia and Alessandro Bragonzi, Head of the EIB Regional Office for the Western Balkans.

In the first panel, German ambassador, H.E. Thomas Schieb, the UK ambassador H.E. Sian MacLeod, Canadian ambassador H.E. Giles Norman, the French ambassador H.E. Pierre Cochard, and Egyptian ambassador H.E. Amr Aljowaily, will talk about their views of the world in 2022.

Representatives of bilateral chambers and business associations, Zoran Petrović, President of AmCham Serbia, Dragan Stokić, President of the French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Giorgio Marchegiani, President of the Italian-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and Oliver Lepori, Executive Director of the Japanese Business Alliance in Serbia will try to answer questions on the trends of the Serbian economy in the coming year.
