Miloš Jelić, CEO Nelt Group

The Nelt Group will record consolidated turnover of EUR 1.15 billion in 2022, or 14% more than in the previous year. New distribution and logistics partnerships, combined with an investment cycle in Angola, create conditions for the company’s further development in the European and African markets.

By investing EUR 20 million in Candy Factory, Angola, a confectionery producer, Nelt shifted its focus on its own brands, ensuring long-term sustainability in the market, where it has been present for 11 years already.

“With the production capacity of 6 700 tonnes per year, daily production is soon expected to exceed 15 tonnes of candies, lollipops and chewing gums. We aim to be the leader in this market category and build strong local brands that will be popular across the continent,” notes Boris Mačak, the Nelt Group Executive Vice President for African markets.

The launch of distribution of Chipita in the markets of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mondelez in Mozambique and Colgate in Zambia and an investment in Chips Way from Čačak marked the year behind us. We have responded to energy and other global and local challenges by deploying thousands of square metres of solar panels, optimising our business operations and increasing efficiency of the entire organisation,” said Miloš Jelić, the Nelt Group CEO.

ACCELERATE2025, the company’s umbrella strategy, has additionally intensified its focus on digital transformation, resulting in launching the updated Nelt Market B2B app and investing EUR 2 million in the data management architecture and tools we develop with Microsoft and SAS.

More than 5,000 people are members of Nelt teams worldwide today. In 2022, more than EUR 2.5 million has been invested in additional salary increase, along with 1,500 hours of education via 258 training programs. Introduction of a flexible work model, private health insurance for a large number of employees and various other benefits focused on family and healthy lifestyle have resulted in Nelt being recognised as the Top Employer in several markets of the region.

Nelt was established in 1992 and it is the leading company in Serbia and the region for providing comprehensive solutions in distribution and logistics services today. The Nelt Group comprises 18 companies, operating in 12 markets in Europe and Africa, with 4,500 employees and annual turnover of more than EUR 1 billion.
