The “Heroine” association, dedicated to supporting women who have survived various types of violence, single mothers, and women with children with special needs, initiates significant projects aimed at improving women’s living conditions
The Association announces a new conference called “Voice against violence” in light of the successfully held panel. The event will be held on December 22. in the municipality of Stari grad, starting at 11 a.m. The conference will bring together eminent panellists from state institutions who will discuss the recognition of abusers and effective methods of protecting women in crises. Special emphasis will be placed on the role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the process of reporting violence.
One of the key topics will be women’s mental health and how to deal with traumatic experiences, as well as the importance of recognizing psychological changes and seeking timely professional help.
Marija Lakić, president of the “Heroine” Association, emphasizes the importance of such events: “Every woman, regardless of whether she has survived violence or not, should hear this information. Prevention is the key to reducing violence in Serbia.”
The association invites socially responsible companies to join their mission in creating a better future for women and children facing serious challenges. Funds raised will go towards safe houses, sports activities for children, school supplies and clothing.
Within the conference, the Association offers numerous benefits for sponsors and donors, including the visibility of their logos on promotional materials, banners, video beams, and video campaigns that will be shared on social networks.
The event will be supported by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Centre for Social Work, the Safe House, as well as celebrities. Around 200 women are expected to participate, both those who have survived violence and those who have not had an encounter with a violent person.
